          Resumen
Only since last year it is known that up to 20% of the continental population of the Black-tailed godwit is present in Doñana wetland during winter, whereas the majority of the population still winters in West African wetlands. Consequently our main objective in this project is to carry out a survey to evaluate the importance of Doñana wetlands as a staging site for the threatened Black-tailed Godwit during the non-breeding period. The focus will be on determining how man-made ecosystem and natural marshes in Doñana are contributing to the increasing numbers of the threatened Black-tailed Godwits. As a dimorphic wader species, we want to investigate also if there is sex segregation in the habitat, resource and microhabitat use.
