The goal of our field studies in Andalucia is contributing to the basic knowledge of the European Orthoptera. In the past years we have investigated different European countries (Italy, Greece, Croatia, Romania) and we have little information on Spanish grasshoppers. Therefore we plan to visit different areas in Spain in the coming years.

We have four main activitities:
1. Sound recordings
2. Photos and videos
3. DNA barcoding
4. Collecting specimens as vouchers for 1, 2 and 3. The specimens will be stored at the national history museum of the Netherlands (Naturalis Biodiversity Center).

All the gathered information will be compiled on the website Orthoptera of Europe (www.ortheur.org).
