The general goal is to evaluate and improve remote sensing estimates of evapotranspiration (and surface water deficit indices), Gross Primary Productivity (GPP) and key variables required at intermediate modeling steps. Additionally I will characterize how five ecosystems in the Mediterranean protected area of Doñana (SW Spain) with different water use strategies modify the surface water fluxes at seasonal and annual time scales and how they respond to a significant decrease in rainfall.
